A delegation from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, lead by the Hon. Kwesi Ahwoi, Minister for Food and Agriculture, today visited the widow of the late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, Mrs. Naadu Mills at her residence in Accra.
The delegation was there to console with her on the death of her husband and to also donate food items as part of the Ministry of Food and Agricultures’ contribution in managing the food needs of the numerous visitors to her house.
Presenting the items, Mr. Maurice Abisa-Seidu, Chief Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, said, MOFA had come to support her and also to mourn with her as majority of farmers, who incidentally form the greater percentage of the populace are doing.
He added that, the death of the President Mills is not one we should wail over because we are all optimistic that, he is seated at the right hand of God almighty where we all hope to be one day.
The items donated were 1 bull, 50 dressed chickens, 20 bags of rice (25 kg) and 10 cartons of fish. He assured her of the Ministry’s further assistance should the need arise.
The delegation which included Hon. Nii Amasah Namaole, Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, in charge of Fisheries, Hon. Dr. Sugri Tia, Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture in charge of Livestock used the opportunity to sign the book of condolence.
