Two rainfall patterns exist in the district – Major and Minor rainy seasons.

ANIMAL FARMING

This is mostly on subsistent levels. However three commercial poultry farmers can be     located in
•    Ankamu
•     Bewadze and
•    Gomoa Nkran

Three commercial pig farmers can also be located in
•    Bewadze
•    Ankamu and
•     Ajumako

It is however important to note that improved breeds of pigs have been supplied to some farmers in the district to help them improve upon and build a bigger stock

FISHING
The main fishing communities are Apam, Mumford, Dago, Mankoadze, and Abrekum.
Some major activities carried out under the fishing communities are :
•    Export of exotic fish such as catfish,
•    Fish Processing
•    Cold storage and preservation
•    Boat building and repairs

SPECIAL PROJECT GOING ON IN THE DISTRICT INCLUDE
•    Block Farming
•    MIDA agric sector programmes
•    Root and tuber improvement and marketing programme
•    Export marketing and Quality awareness programme
