Background Information

Construction was started in 1962 and completed in 1975 by Nippon Koei of Japan. It has a gross area of 150 ha and a net irrigable area of 59 ha. The main crop is rice and some Okro. The project uses a combination of a pump and gravity flow system for water distribution.

Present Situation

Water Source/Head-works: It is a project along the Volta River. Through a pumping system, water is lifted through a canal system to the paddy field. The Kubota pump has a capacity of 367 l/min and a dynamic head of 10 m.
