Background Information

The scheme is located at a village about 5 km west of Kpando and 80 km northeast of Ho. It lies around latitude 6o 59’ N and longitude 0o 15’ – 0o 20 E.

The project was developed in 1976 and it is a pump scheme that irrigates by the sprinkler system. It has a gross area of 356 ha and only 40 ha is irrigable but total area cropped is about 10 ha. The main crop cultivated is okra and the average yield is about 12.0 tons/ha.

Headwork’s infrastructure

The headworks consist of a pump of Baur, Perrot and IFA make. They are four (4) in number, with each having a capacity of 120 m3/hr.
