Background Information

The construction of Golinga Project was started in 1971 and completed in 1974 by the government of Ghana. The source of its water is the Kornin River. It has a potential area of about 100ha.  The developed area covers about 40ha with the net irrigable area covering about 20ha. The main crops cultivated on the project are rice, okro, and onions.  The climate in the project area is the Guinea Savannah type.
