Improving Ghana’s Income Growth Through Integrated Agriculture Storage and Distribution Project

In 2017, MoFA with support from AfDB, submitted a proposal to Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation (KOAFEC) for a Grant to support the implementation of the Marketing Component of Planting for Food and Jobs.

The proposal, titled, “Improving Ghana’s Income Growth through Integrated Agriculture Storage and Distribution” was approved and a Grant of Three Hundred and Ninety Thousand Nine Hundred and Sixty-Three dollars (USD 390,963) provided for implementation. The activities to be funded include:

  • Conduct a study to identify the status of Ghana’s agricultural storage and distribution systems for cereals and vegetables and propose modalities for improvement
  • Develop an action plan to install some pilot integrated storage facilities for cereals and vegetables (cold chain facility)
  • Strengthen Ghana’s capacity in post-harvest handling and management by sharing Korea’s experiences

The Technical Launch of the project took place on 19th March, 2021 but the financial and disbursement training was postponed. Once this completed, project implementation will start.
