The donation, is to accelerate planning towards the 33th edition of the celebration on the theme: ‘Farming for food and jobs’
The companies which presented the donations include Interplast Limited, which presented an amount of GH¢ 30,000, in cheque, Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited donated a cheque of GH¢25 ,000 and Ghana Revenue Authority, presented a cheque of GH¢20,000
Hon. Dr. Nurah Gyiele, Minister of state in charge of Agriculture who received the cheque, expressed gratitude to the donors and assured them that their presentations would be used for the intended purpose, saying government recognizes their support towards the success of the celebration and appealed to corporate bodies in the country to emulate the example of the companies.
HE encouraged other institutions in the private sector to also come on board to support the 2017 Farmers’ Day Celebration.
“The budget for the 28th edition of the farmers’ celebration is very big and government alone cannot shoulder it, we are therefore depending on you, the private sector even though some of you are already doing well to come in your numbers and support, he said.
