In a bid to strengthen transparency and accountability in public procurement at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, a new Entity Tender Committee has been officially inaugurated.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Thursday,18th August 2025. The membership of the committee was drawn from stakeholders in governance, procurement, and public administration. The newly constituted committee is mandated to oversee and guide the procurement processes in accordance with the Public Procurement Act, ensure best practices in contract awards and value for money.
The committee is chaired by the sector minister, Hon. Eric Opoku (MP). Other members include the Chief Director for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture Mr. Paul Siameh, Mr. Emmanuel Adusei, Mrs. Josephine Quagraine, Dr. Solomon Gyan Ansah, Ing. Patrick Ohene Aboagy, Mrs. Leona Serwah Johnson-Abassaah, Ing. Selorm Yaotse Dorvlo PE-GhIE and Mrs. Araba Kudiabor.
The team brings extensive expertise in procurement, finance, and governance. Their experience is anticipated to bring integrity and efficiency in the procurement processes of the Ministry.
In his remarks, Hon. Eric Opoku emphasized the importance of ethical leadership and strict adherence to procurement regulations. “This committee has a mandate to ensure that procurement decisions are fair, competitive, and free from conflict of interest. We will uphold the highest standards of integrity in every decision we make” he stated. Hon Opoku promised to work assiduously, with transparency and in accordance with the law.
The inauguration marks a critical step in enhancing procurement processes and strengthening institutional capacity for service delivery in the Agric sector.
The committee was inaugurated by the Deputy Minister Trade and Agribusiness, Hon. Sampson Ahi.
