The Eezzy Group Foundation has donated a brand-new pick-up vehicle, a tractor with its accessories and 20 motorcycles to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) in support of the 42nd National Farmers' Day Celebration, which will be held in Sunyani, Bono Region, on Friday, 4th December 2026.

The items were presented at a brief ceremony held at the forecourt of the Ministry on Wednesday, 15th July 2026.

The Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture and Chairman of the National Farmers' Day Planning Committee, Hon. John Setor Dumelo, in his welcome address, described the donation as “a clear demonstration of Eezzy Group Foundation’s commitment to Ghana’s agricultural sector and its recognition of the invaluable contribution of our farmers to food security, employment creation and national development”.

He noted that the items would be presented as prizes to outstanding farmers during this year's National Farmers' Day Celebration, adding that the awards would not only recognise excellence but also provide recipients with productive assets to expand their farming operations, improve productivity and inspire others to strive for greater achievement.

The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, commended the Eezzy Group Foundation for the generous support, describing it as a demonstration of the growing confidence the private sector has in the Ministry's vision of transforming agriculture.

The Minister stressed that “agriculture remains the backbone of the country's economy, noting that when agriculture goes wrong, nothing else in the country can go right”. He explained that because every Ghanaian depends on food, supporting and motivating farmers is essential to ensuring national food security and economic prosperity.

Hon. Eric Opoku further stated that the President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, is committed to giving Ghanaian farmers the recognition and rewards they deserve, adding that this year's National Farmers' Day celebration will significantly enhance the prizes awarded to outstanding farmers.

The Minister announced that, for the first time, the National Best Farmer will receive a brand-new pick-up vehicle in addition to the traditional prize package, which includes GH¢1.2 million, a brand-new tractor with its accessories, and assorted farm inputs. He further disclosed that donations received so far include three pick-up vehicles, a 50-seater bus to be presented to the Best Senior High School in Practical Agriculture, and other contributions from corporate organisations and individuals.

The Minister noted that the overwhelming response from corporate organisations and individuals reflects public confidence in the Ministry's stewardship of the celebration. He assured donors that every item received would be presented to deserving farmers. “We assure all our donors that every item received will be presented to deserving farmers. We remain committed to transparency and accountability in managing these donations, just as we have done in previous years,” he said.

He also appealed to more corporate institutions, organisations and individuals to support the initiative, stressing that investing in farmers is an investment in Ghana's future.

Mr. Mohammed Raii, the Managing Director of Eezzy Group, thanked President John Dramani Mahama for his unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of Ghanaians, particularly farmers. He noted that the President's vision for transforming agriculture and giving greater recognition to farmers inspired the Foundation's decision to support this year's National Farmers' Day Celebration.

Mr. Raii further stated that Eezzy Group has a strong interest in agriculture and believes the sector remains central to Ghana's economic growth and food security. He reaffirmed the Foundation's commitment to partnering Government to promote agricultural development and pledged Eezzy Group's continued support for initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of Ghanaian farmers.
